RuggedCom CROSSBOW < V6.0: Auth Bypass for Scheduled Tasks
CVE-2026-89206 Published on October 13, 2026
A vulnerability has been identified in RUGGEDCOM CROSSBOW (All versions < V6.0). Affected devices do not properly perform server-side authorization checks for requests to modify the state of scheduled actions. This could allow an authenticated attacker with minimal privileges to retry, stop, or delete scheduled tasks without proper authorization.
Weakness Type
Client-Side Enforcement of Server-Side Security
The software is composed of a server that relies on the client to implement a mechanism that is intended to protect the server. When the server relies on protection mechanisms placed on the client side, an attacker can modify the client-side behavior to bypass the protection mechanisms resulting in potentially unexpected interactions between the client and server. The consequences will vary, depending on what the mechanisms are trying to protect.
