GStreamer gst-plugins-bad H.266 Parser Stack Overflow via Integer Overflow
CVE-2026-119777 Published on October 30, 2026

Gstreamer1-plugins-bad-free: gstreamer1-plugins-bad-free: stack buffer overflow in h.266/vvc parser
A flaw was found in GStreamer's gst-plugins-bad H.266/VVC parser. When processing a malformed H.266 media file or stream, an integer overflow while parsing profile, tier, and level fields can lead to a stack-based buffer overflow. An attacker could cause an application to crash and may be able to execute code in the context of the affected application.

Weakness Type

What is a Memory Corruption Vulnerability?

The software writes data past the end, or before the beginning, of the intended buffer. Typically, this can result in corruption of data, a crash, or code execution. The software may modify an index or perform pointer arithmetic that references a memory location that is outside of the boundaries of the buffer. A subsequent write operation then produces undefined or unexpected results.

CVE-2026-119777 has been classified to as a Memory Corruption vulnerability or weakness.
